Garrys mod crashes while downloading addons

Jeeze i dislike the workshop right now, it just messed everything up. Make sure the basic file isn't conflicting with anything. Like what, what would conflict, Extra or slim? Not necessarily one of the SCars addons, but another addon that might have a conflicting file.

Check the other addons' descriptions that might indicate incompatibilities. Sist redigert av The Juice ; 3. Moist Cheeki Vis profil Vis innlegg. Impetuous Vis profil Vis innlegg. Guys, I might have a lead on this case. So far for me, this is only happening for addons that are about 80 MB or larger. Here is the list of mods that crash my game upon finish downloading: Half-Life Renaissance: The first 3 are all by the same person, but his other mods that are less than 80 MB actually installed correctly and works fine.

Also I noticed it crashes after it finishes downloading, which tells me that the file is in the computer somewhere, but it fails to move it to the "addons" folder after downloading. This is proven when the next time I start, because it skips the download and only writes the name of the addon at the bottom of the screen, which shows that the download is finished. Then it crashes GMod and also freezes Steam. Now I just have to find the temporary folder that Steam saves the file before it transfers it to the "addons" folder and figure out what to do next.

This might be different for other people, but hopefully it shows you which addons are actually crashing your GMod. Therefore, you should consider changing this setting in the game properties. Sound Settings: The use of surround sound in the game has caused many crashes, according to players. We recommend switching to stereo to see if this solves the problem. Missing or corrupt game files: In such cases, reinstalling the game or checking the integrity of the game files are two methods that may give you the answer you are looking for.

No administrator privileges: Although games do not require administrator privileges by default, some important game files may be in folders for which the game requires administrator privileges. Some users suggest setting the graphics settings to High, which may solve this problem. Although changing the graphics settings may result in a lower frame rate, this should solve the problem of crashes.

Many games crash when their files are corrupted. Some users suggest setting the graphics settings to High to solve this problem. Although changing the graphics settings may cause your frame rate to drop, this should solve the problem of crashes. I think that was what fixed it. Thanks anyways and I did end up getting mine fixed going into the steam work shop and unsubscribing to all my mods so the mods wouldn't crash my game.

SCars Extra, and Slim work Perfectly fine. Jeeze i dislike the workshop right now, it just messed everything up. Make sure the basic file isn't conflicting with anything.
